CRYP INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The following is a list of internship opportunities and their related position descriptions for 2008-2009. CRYP asks candidates to please keep in mind that  these are entry level positions, with supervision and guidance. The goal of the internship is to teach - so the desire to learn is the greatest advantage!

MENTAL HEALTH - Interns in this area will work with a Licensed Professional Counselor to develop effective programming in the area of youth mental health, addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, anger management and crisis/suicide crisis prevention. ARTS - The intern in this area will be working with staff and volunteers to develop exciting and creative programs for youth who wish to develop their artistic talents or who simply wish to learn more about the arts. Examples of activities include ceramics, painting, crafts and dance. For the full position description, please click here.

WELLNESS - The intern in this area will be working with qualified health professionals, staff and volunteers to address issues of nutrition and basic health among our youth participants. Some examples of responsibilities will include planning daily meals, coordinating with staff working in the naturally grown garden, and coordinating activities in the gymnasium. LITERACY - The intern in this area will be assisting CRYP in the development of both our children's and teen's libraries. Activities will include selecting age-appropriate books, developing shelving and organizational systems, and coordinating library hours when the facilities are open. SUSTAINABLE SYSTEMS - The intern in this area will be primarily responsible for the 2.5 acre Winyan Toka Win Naturally Grown Garden. In addition to assisting CRYP with the preparation and planting of the acreage, the intern will work with volunteers and youth in the garden during the growing and harvesting seasons. SOCIAL ENTERPRISES - The intern in this area will be involved in the development of all CRYP operated fundraising efforts, such as our Gift Shop and Internet Cafe. The intern will play a role in developing working business plans, and will assist in managing these operations during opening hours. For the full position description, please click here.
