" Informing teens about their future..."

Each year, CRYP is visited by many Universities and Colleges across the country as part of the Alternative Spring Breaks program (ASB), and other service learning initiatives. Hosting group volunteers is not only a much needed boost of volunteer support, it is also an opportunity to teach our young people about higher eduation.

The College Night Series began in 2007 as a way of connecting our youth participants with information on program offerings and course studies, applying for college, securing financial aid, and general college life. Our service groups provide information and support, with a question and answer session at the end of each information exchange. The evenings run throughout the spring and early summer, with each service group preparing for the event and hosting the attendees.

Already, this program has received much attention and support, locally and regionally, and has passed its evaluation with flying colors, according to youth participants.  CRYP will continue the series in 2008, and plans to make College Night an annual component of CRYP teen programming.
