CRYP already has a long history of involving youth in arts and creative pursuits. The Cokata Wiconi Teen Center gives us the new opportunity to build upon those skills and to help teens reach their full potential.

Though we still have a way to go in developing our art and dance facilities, we have already begun several programs that can initiate community involvement and youth participation. Our Dance Studio is regularly utilized by local dance troops for practice and small exhibitions, of which we are extremely proud. It is also the "staging" area for our yearly powwow and will be utilized as a practice area for our acting workshops, planned for late 2008.

Our most publicized event thus far, however, has been our Teen Art Show, which showcased the work of more than 20 talented teens from the Cheyenne River reservation. The Art Show ran for two weeks in fall of 2007, with a variety of media covering the opening and closing events. CRYP plans to make the Art Show an annual part of our programming, supporting our new and budding artists.
